Design and Manufacture of a Test Device for Radiosynthesizer Vacuum Pumps

Vacuum pump wear is the most prevalent failure mode of IBA Synthera® automated radiochemistry system. Rebuilding or replacing causes equipment downtime and increases radiation exposure service personnel. We built a dedicated test device to assess new rebuilt pumps prior installation, thus reducing during repairs. The Testbed incorporates microprocessor that actuates pump, valves, pressure sensor; communicates with user through lights, buttons, an alphanumeric screen; outputs results laptop. productivity safety in laboratory.
